What We Do

The KCLLS is run by students, for students. The Society aims to offer members opportunities to acquaint themselves with the legal profession and equip them with skills necessary to succeed in legal practise through the diverse range of events hosted. Further to this vocational function, KCLLS also hosts multiple social events for members to enjoy.

KCLLS Constitution

Our constitution outlines the aims and objectives of KCLLS, as well as governing the functioning of the Society's Executive Committee. The standards and procedures outlined aim to clarify what members can expect from their Law Society, whilst ensuring that the high standards of KCLLS are maintained. Download It Here.

Non-Attendance Policy

Due to the high-demand on our events, KCLLS operates a strict non-attendance policy. Familiarise yourself with this policy to ensure that you aren't disadvantaged in securing your place at future events. Download it here.

Debating and Negotiation

Our Competitions and Debates Officers have compiled short manuals for beginner negotiators and debaters.

  • The Debating Handbook goes through constructing arguments, manner, method, and rebuttal; and provides helpful tips. It can be accessed here.

  • The Negotiation Handbook similarly outlines format and assessment criteria, and provides provisional competition dates. Access it here.

Commercial Awareness

Interested in improving your commercial awareness?  Learn how to do so from experienced lawyers at Herbert Smith Freehills in their interview with the KCL Law Society.  Download it here.
